Artificial turf is composed of three layers of materials. The foundation layer is composed of compacted soil layer, crushed stone layer, and asphalt or concrete layer. The basic layer is required to be solid, not deformed, with a smooth and impermeable surface, which is a typical concrete site. Due to the large area of the hockey field, it is necessary to handle the foundation layer well during construction to prevent sinking. If laying a concrete layer, expansion joints should be cut out after the concrete solidifies to prevent thermal expansion deformation and cracks.
Above the base layer is a buffer layer, usually composed of rubber or foam plastic. Rubber has moderate elasticity and a thickness of 3-5mm. The cost of foam plastic is low, but the elasticity is poor, the thickness is 5-10mm, and the thick lawn is too soft and easy to sag; Too thin and lacking elasticity, unable to provide cushioning effect. The buffer layer should be firmly adhered to the base layer, usually with white latex or universal adhesive.
The third layer, also the surface layer, is the turf layer. According to the surface shape of the manufacturing, there are fluffy grass, circular curly nylon silk grass, leaf shaped polypropylene fiber grass, and permeable grass woven with nylon silk. This layer must also be glued to rubber or foam plastic with latex. During construction, it is necessary to apply glue comprehensively and press it firmly in sequence without wrinkles or folds.
